Bardock Special
The Bardock special is the story of Goku's father and the destruction of the Planet Vegeta and how it came about.
I must say i love the Bardock special. Be sure though that if you get this movie/special that you get a GOOD copy of it. My first copy of it was a B+ tape and...well....you dont want that kind of quality for a movie/special now for episodes...i can stand B+ quality. But the Bardock speical has TONS of color and good lighting effects. The lighting effects are simply awesome they mainly dont come in till nearly the end of the movie....but that fine. I had no prob about that. The beggining to the Bardock special gets you hooked INSTANTLY!!! Lets just say lots of um...Big Monkey action. And for anybody who knows anything about DBZ you know what that means.
Now this is a movie you wanna get if your simply trying to learn as much about the Saiya-jin race as possible. This little movie/special will give you loads of information. It even shows female saiya-jin's which i know many people have never seen one and never will untill they see this special. There is nothing really more special about seeing a female saiya-jin then seeing a male saiya-jin but it's the first/last time you'll see one. Another neat thing is that you get to see Vegeta as a child and Nappa with hair! Talk about some wierd and cool stuff seen.
A few things confuse me is that Dodoria and Zarbon show up in this one...but they dont seem younger then when they do in the series..... you'd think even though they are aliens that they'd show some sort of ageing. Another is that Bardock is supposed to be a low-level soldier and yet his power rating is very high for a saiya-jin, much higher in fact even in movie 3 Turles was also very strong he was a low-level soldier. I have yet to see a low level soldier that is actually "weak". But no matter it wouldnt make this speical interesting if they would have made Bardock weak. Once you watch this special you will see where Goku gets his fighting spirit. Keep in mind Bardock is still considerably evil and does destroy entire civilizations etc. he is just more civilized then the rest.
Well...in the end this special is a sheer treat to see. To your eyes and to your brain. It's got everything a dbz fan could want. EVEN MUSIC THAT FITS THE SCENES PERFECTLY!!! I suggest getting this one big time.
What I loved about the Bardock Special:
The Music that played as Bardock was dying and see's the future of Goku against Freeza.
